Pimp My Character! Jul. 19th, 2009 @ 12:59 pm
Gamers LOVE to goob about their characters and now, Pimp My Character, is a weekly podcast show where you get to do so for all to hear you.

Scott McQ interviews gamers about their character, asks them questions not only about the character, but by using the Proust Questionnaire, made popular by Bravo's Inside the Actors Studio, interviews the character themselves.

It's a chance, in 15 minutes, to show just how AWESOME you are!

Gay Gamer Podcast Feb. 17th, 2009 @ 07:02 am
There seems a lack of gay RPG gamer podcasts.

If one was started, what would you be interested in hearing in it?

Leave suggestions please.

Hunter: the Vigil LARP in LA Sep. 5th, 2008 @ 01:16 pm
Cross-posting to hell and gone, my apologies for people who get this multiple times.

I picked up Hunter: the Vigil a couple weeks ago. And it is a fantastic and wonderful game. So fantastic and wonderful, in fact, that I want to run it. As a troupe game. Completely unaffiliated with any organized play group... just me and my staff, running the game the way I think would be the most fun for everyone.

I've been working on developing the setting for the past little while. And so, I can gladly announce, the wiki is here: http://candlelight.wikispaces.com/, and the yahoogroup is here: http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/candlelight_larp/. The first game is tentatively scheduled for the first Friday of October, starting at 7 pm, at the Glendale City Hall.

Right now, the game will probably be run in the L.A. area - but I have folks interested in the game from Santa Barbara to Orange County, so I'm up for shifting the game site to make it convenient for everyone (or, as will likelier be the case, equally inconvenient for everyone!).

Tell your friends! Spread it around! It'll be totally awesome! If anyone has any questions, feel free to contact me at lady dot von dot syrus at gmail dot com.

San Diego Vampire: The Requiem & Werewolf: The Forsaken LARP's Jul. 27th, 2008 @ 09:41 am
My name is Kai and I am currently deployed to Iraq, but shall be returning in the middle of next month. I am a member of the Camarilla, White Wolf's Official Fan Club and Global Sanctioned Chronicle. Over the course of this deployment the number of local players has dropped significantly. With my return, I hope to open up an opportunity for new players to join the game and make this as large a game as it once was, if not bigger and better.

As such, I am announcing my intention to hold a game focusing on new players. I will be available to introduce people to the game. Currently, we hold games at the SDSU campus on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month.

We are also discussing a brand new Werewolf: The Forsaken game for those who are interested. This will likely take place 2 Fridays a month, to be announced at a later time.

If you are interested in either the Intro game for Vampire: The Requiem or the new game of Werewolf: The Forsaken, please email me at CamarillaKai at gmail.

Starting a larp in Humboldt NorCal Mar. 13th, 2008 @ 06:37 pm

I'm starting a LARP in Humboldt county sometime in the summer. My main goal is to have an exciting avenue for the group creation of stories. Right now it looks like It'll be non-boffer, along the lines of MET but probably with a different system or setting depending on expressed interest.

Right now I'm looking for a group of people to bounce ideas off of and to provide a framework for what kind of LARP would be easiest to make successful.

If you live in Humboldt County, or possibly in the neighboring Mendocino, Del Norte, Siskiyou or Trinity counties and can travel, send me an email if you're interested and we can go from there: thekrown (at) yahoo.com

Winter is upon us, the Longest Night has passed, yet there are still stories to be told. A Time of Sorrow & Regret indeed.
Miss Muir has a tale to be told. It's time the long hidden past be brought into the light.
Ignorance can be bliss and Knowledge is dangerous.
It's time for the Lost of Monterey to see how true these proverbs are.

Lost is now live! Join us for our very first Lost LARP!

Werewolf: the Forsaken: Saturday, January 5th:

A letter is posted at the Tur:
"Lads & Lasses,
Sorry, I been away. Been on holiday in the Antarctic.
But I'm home now.
We should talk.

The Song of a Thousand Hungers has been defeated, will the pack return to the ocean to claim their reward?
What about the strange ritual signs around where they battled the monster?
Not to mention a cult has sprung up worshiping a spirit, yet that spirit supposedly is in league with the Forsaken.

Requiem Check in is at 7:30 PM
Requiem Game is from 8:00 PM - 11:30 PM

The Ordo Dracul continue to investigate the loss of one of it's members as they face off with the more populous Carthian Movement.
Will the truth of the matter be left in the hands of politics?
